Some photos of our pancake making, eating and racing evening.

We decided that to finish our Chefs badge and celebrate the previous Tuesday, pancake day, we would let the Cubs loose with flour and eggs, something the local authorities have frowned on a few months ago. We enlisted the help of several Mums and a trainee Young Leader that was once one of our Cubs. |

| Once the ingredients, instructions and implements had been handed out the Cubs under the watchful eyes of the adults started to mix the ingredients and heat one side and then gently toss the pancake over their head into the floor, "That's your's Hathi!" they said. Once lightly browned on both sides the Cubs were encouraged to add a topping and then consume their pancake, this proved very popular with all the Cubs | |

Once all the Cubs had tried out their new skills, four special heavy duty pancakes were made, these were the racing pancakes, strong enough to resist tearing or splintering when caught on the edge of the frying pan and to resist the pressure of being dropped and trodden on. These were put to one side for the vulcanisation to work its magic, four clean and cold frying pans were brought out for the races. The Teams including adults had to run the length of the Scutt, tossing their pancakes at certain points, touch the wall and run back, tossing in the same places before handing over the frying pan to the next racer. The winning team was informed by Akela that their prize was to eat the pancakes. Yummy! The Ladies then forced Akela and Hathi to have a race, using two pans - at the same time - with a pancake in each - this was enjoyed by the Cubs as one of the Leaders took it seriously and one didn't and we didn't eat the pancakes either. |

A big thank you to Alex, Vicki, Carol, Jayne and Sandra, you made the evening possible and so much more fun than it would have been without you.
