On the closest Cub night to Shrove Tuesday we had our annual pancake festival. A nice simple evening that results in the Cubs going home having had something warm and nourishing to eat and leaves the Leaders with a clean up of epic proportions.
Akela invited a couple of people to come and help so big thanks to Angela, Rio and Dawn for turning out.
The mixture was made the gas burners were fired up and away we went. All the Cubs made, cooked and ate at least one pancake, thankfully this year there was no food colouring to add to the excitement. Although the Cubs tried hard only one pancake managed to reach the ceiling and only one was dropped onto the floor.
To round off the evening we had a pancake race. Three teams; a frying pan, a special industrial strength pancake for each team. Rules were simple toss the pancake run halfway up the hall toss again, run to the end of the hall toss again, run back and let the next team member take a turn.
