Friday

It remained quiet, after the Cubs had surfaced briefly at 05:30 again, and the Leaders had a lie in until 06:30.

Breakfast was, traditionally, iffits. Iffits left over and can be eaten it's cooked and eaten. A happy tradition that has seen us through some interesting last camp breakfasts.

The Cubs kit in the cabin was packed away, the tents cleared of sleeping things and then the groundsheets were taken out and turned over to dry. When the tents were dry, which didn't take long, they were taken down and bagged up. At this point it was discovered that the Cubs were now in the way and were sent down to the big field with Hathi to get out from under the Leaders feet when packing the kitchen things away.

On the big field the girls laid out on the grass to sunbathe while the boys to played argue with a world cup theme. How is it possible for six boys to find it so hard to kick a ball around with out arguing long and loud.

After half an hour it was felt safe to return the Cubs to the camp area to help in packing the trailer. By this time some of the parents that had offered to bring us all home had arrived and it was time to let the Cubs loose in the camp shop. At last a chance to spend some money, retail therapy for young consumers. Akela was next door spending rather more money as he paid for the camp and all it's activities.

The trip home was uneventful apart from everyone taking slightly different routes, The trailer arrived and was unloaded, the Cubs were called into the hall and given their camp certificates, and a stick of rock. The first time campers were given their commemorative tent pegs, and the then the Cubs went home. The Leaders went to go next door for a debrief but the Harvesters was shut!!!!! So we went to the man in space instead.

The camp seems to have been a success as the main question being asked at the end was . . .

"When's the next camp?"
