Palm Sunday

March 20th

We were invited as a Group to attend the Palm Sunday Church Service at The Stockwood Free Church followed by a march to the Church of Christ the Saviour for some refreshments.

We advertised this on our Pack night and asked for a good turn-out... three Cubs turned up and one of them is a regular church goer. While we are not a sponsored Group and run our Pack on a secular system we were bitterly disappointed with this. So a special thank you to Tom, Jess and Emma.

Our Pack

It would be true to say that the Leaders Team are not Church people and were a little surprised by the service, lots of unfamiliar hymns, arm waving and general enthusiasm. The march was not as we expected a simple walk from Church to Church but involved several stops to sing hymns, pray and have readings in various locations around Stockwood. The procession was lead by a remarkably well behaved donkey (Eeyore) and then the youngsters from the local Rainbows, Brownies, Beavers, Cubs and the one Scout that turned up (an ex-Wednesday Cub it must be said).

Follow the ass

The experience was not what we as Leaders expected, which is always a good thing. Things may well be said on Friday at the sleep-over.

Oh yes, as Akela was involved naturally the sun shone on us, shame about the wind.
