Monday May 30th

At last time to go home, just one more morning to go. For some reason the Cubs stayed in their tents until 07:30 with a pair of female Cubs having to be woken at 08:00 so that they could have their breakfast. There were a lot of yawns being bounced across the tables as Akela's champion Iffits breakfast was brought forth. (Iffits for those that do not know are the bits left over after a camp where too much food has been bought or rather the Cubs have not eaten as much as they should have. ["If its" possible to fry it then it gets fried] ) Neil one of the parents and the group's QM came down to help us with the last day and helped reduce the iffits mountain.

At 10:00 we had caving. This was enjoyed by most of the Cubs although it needed a little persuasion for some of them to go into the man made tunnels/tubes. There were a number of access points along the route that enabled the Leaders to pour a little excitement into the Cubs subterranean  adventure. The cold water certainly made them scoot along into the darker recesses of the cave system.

Suitably dirty and wet the Cubs had a mid morning break to use up some of the generously donated cakes that we had left over. The Cubs provided their own entertainment with table top games or having a lie-down while Lunch was prepared. After lunch the tents were taken down, all the kit was put back onto the truck and finally what every Cub had been waiting all day for, they were allowed into the Camp Shop to spend their money.

After waiting for a Parent to arrive with transport we loaded the Cubs into cars and the mini bus and drove back to the Scutt. The truck was unloaded, the tents put out to air. Finally the Cubs were given their certificates and sent home. Possibly some of them made it without falling asleep but I am willing to bet that most had an early night.

Finally there are a few people that must be thanked for their help in making the camp possible; Mr and Mrs Lynes for the loan of their truck and the use of their mini-bus to Mr and Mrs. Osborne and Neil for transport to and from the Camp. To Baggy and Hathi for going along and enjoying themselves and to the sungod aka Akela. A camp where we did not have a single weather worry.

Now all we need to do is catch up with our sleep.
