On the 21st February, Hathi and Akela took Brad, Shaun, Ryan C, Ryan S, Mike and me, Robert to Norton Malreward so we could start our hike to Chew Magna. Hathi walked us to the start and from then on we were on our own until we got to a checkpoint. At the Checkpoint there was a Leader helping us
cross the road or asking us which way we were going next.
To get to the first checkpoint, we started by going down a steep, muddy, rocky hill, crossed a field with 2 donkeys in and crossed a river. Then we got into a hollow tree, Akela took a photograph of us in the tree. Before continuing, we had a snack. The next checkpoint was just outside a farm, we saw Hathi there, he crossed us over the road and told us to walk round the crops on the farmland and go over the style, which was in a bush by the crops. The style led us into another field with crops in, we walked round them, then we walked over a footbridge onto a green hill where we sat down and something to eat. We crossed another style and got into another fields where there were moles holes. In the next field we saw cows and where they cleaned all the water from the sewage. This was where we saw Arkela, He walked us up a hill to a church in Stanton Drew and we took photos of the church and went inside and looked round.
We then set off again. We crossed a road with Hathi and Arkela, they asked which way we were going next. We told them we were going to walk ahead down a road where no cars were allowed. The told us that was the right way. and left us again. Halfway down this road we ate our lunch. After lunch we continued down the road, until we reached a field, there we picked up the footpath and followed it through fields. We then walked for 250 yards to the last church. The last church is called St Andrew's, the first is called St Andrew's and the 2nd is called St Marry's.
