Round 1 @ 82nd HQ
We were without our superstar this year as Alex had moved on to Scouts. So we had to do our best with our team of Robert, Beth(ff)TM, Becky and Jess.

We met up outside the 82nd HQ and waited for our turn one of the other teams did not turn up and only three from the other team appeared. Our Captain picked the middle table, and as there was an empty table the Leaders offered to make it a complete round, but Simon was concerned that we might be humiliated by the Cubs and refused our entry.
Round 1
General Knowledge: We only got one right, Becky knew that the guards at The Tower of London are beefeaters (apparently the first Cub to get it right today)
Round 2
A True or False round that everybody got right? True
Round 3
A mixed group that we got half right
Round 4
Nursery Rhymes. This was again got half right, the Leaders were aware that his would have been the round that would have shown them up.
Round 5
Nature: This round was a disaster, with no correct score at all. The answer to "Where do badgers live?" given by Robert was correct as in they live underground, but the answer on the card was a Set.
Round 6
Maths: We really missed Alex and again two of the Cubs got it right and the others had a go.
Round 7
Science: There seemed to be a pattern appearing as the score this round was two points.
Round 8
Opposites: A nice simple round with top marks
Round 9
Multiple choice: Two easy questions and two hard questions, so two points again
Round 10
Sport: To maintain our scoring system we scored . . . two points
Result
148th Twenty one points and 145th Twenty Six point. We had lost, worse than that Tuesday Cubs had scored Twenty Four. Double blast!
Thanks to Simon (ADC Cubs) for organising it and the scorer, and to the others who came along to support our team. (Angela and Steve)
There is a very faint hope that we could go through on the three highest scoring losers but we will not hold our breath.
