As usual the Cubs were encouraged to dress up and frighten the locals.
This year even Hathi made an effort and wore a mask, we think it was a mask,
we certainly hope it was. The Cubs enjoyed the experience of the Leaders not recognizing
them to play the odd jolly jape. There were a few witches, vampires, devils,
wizards and a chainsaw wielding mass murderer.
The monsters were given tasks to do like a fridge magnet in the shape of a bat, colour in a devils mask and do some pepper carving as we would not have had time to carve a pumpkin.
We had dunking for apples which was enjoyed by the Leaders and some of the Cubs, those that were able to pick up the apples by the stalk. Alex M managed to nearly drown in a bowl of water, the Leaders would have sworn that Akela was nowhere near him while this happened but sadly Alex squirmed out of his grip and managed to breathe again.
Mrs. Hathi did her thing with the Halloween cake and there was lots to go round, the ingredient s included pumpkin and this did not seem to put anyone off. Robert decided to take some home for the rest of the family, he must have a huge family
