Christmas Party

Dec 18th

As this tends to get messy, if the last few years is anything to go by, the Cubs were asked not to wear their uniforms, most of them remembered but there's always one or two.

The games started with Akela says, based on Simon says but much harder as Akela is brilliant at this game, he got them ALL with his starting command, "ok everybody up" everybody stood up and were immediately out as Akela hadn't said!

Next came tunnel balloon, similar to tunnel ball but wit ha balloon. Hathi had the job of blowing the balloons up and managed to bust one with a Herculean puff. The Cubs all laughed to see him fall to the floor as if shot. The teams were evened up by Hathi and Baloo joining in.

A relay race with straws and Smarties was next and  the Leaders backed out of this to act a judges, team A won by dropping their Smarties so that they split and were counted twice, a good tactic.

While Akela and Baloo sorted the food out the annual game of roll the dice and if you get a six you put on a pair of gloves Hathi's fleece and try and eat as much of a chocolate bar with a knife and fork. It seems that Ben and Jess 2 were chocolate lovers as they managed to scoff most of it.

After a rest for food and drink, it was decided to have a quiet game instead of a running about and making a mess.

There were half a dozen donuts left so six volunteers were given the task of eating them without licking their lips, not easy, but it got rid of the donuts. The next game got rid of the last few sandwiches that were left. Eat them off a serviette without using your hands. Lots of fun.

The evening was soon over and the Cubs were given a selection box each and told not to miss the Carol Service on Sunday.

Thanks to Steve for staying and helping and best wishes and get well soon to Abi who missed out as she was ill.
