This year after much discussion we decided to return to Beaver Lodge at Parkend.
This meant that we would be returning to Holly Farm for our day-out activities. We looked at the various activities available and after weighing the options decided to do what we did on our last visit. These was booked, we booked the Beaver Lodge, the Cubs were informed of our choice and apart from a couple of Cubs the response was overwhelming. We actually had to Invest half a dozen siblings and friends so that they could come on camp with us!
Our regular Leaders are to be joined by Kaa (Rich) from Tuesday Cubs, St Georges Troop and the Beaver Lodge. Our helpers Abi and Alison were joined by Carol whose first camp it would be.
Our Camp Tee Shirts were designed by Akela and Abi, with the colour being picked by Abi, who visited the tee shirt printer to make sure that the correct colours would be used. So we know who gets the credit for the shirts.
The Activity plan was worked out, menus made up or copied from the last summer camp. A visit was arranged to make sure the night hike would not have Hathi (Mr. wrong-way) taking everybody into a long trek around the Forest of Doom, sorry Forest of Dean.
The original plan of driving up to Gloucester to avoid paying to cross the Severn was abandoned as we worked out the timing for travel, tent erection, Camp rules, Tee shirt handouts, do the night hike and get the Cubs to bed ready for an early start on Saturday morning.
